I had to buy the whole bag of watches at a thrift store but it was worth it.

Above all, remember that the most important thing you can take anywhere is not a Gucci bag or French cut jeans; it's an open mind.

That Dolce Gabbana Chicken Baby Housework Campaign

Remember when I was wondering about Dolce & Gabbana's Madonna campaign - or was it Madonna's Dolce&Gabanna campaign? Anyway, here's a behind the scenes look released today. Note the chicken.

How to find the best mens boots

Well, after trying those Fiorenti & Baker two weekends ago I had to go revisit the inspiration - just to make sure. Last weekend we headed to our local surplus store to see what was in stock. I found both pairs - the parade and the combat (photos 5 & 6) plus a few cool ones for him. Is it just me or is the boot in photo 3 a near spitting image to the Barry Distressed Buttero boots? Of course neither of us walked out with boots but I picked up a Canadian cadet overcoat - currently at the dry cleaner so no photo.

PS The rainy season has begun and I want to bottle the smell of the forest.

am I turning into a poser?

Haunted by the spirit of my old combat boots I was possesed to try these Fiorenti and Baker Elois-A-Ner on last weekend. I loved them. Haunted by mocking voices in my head chanting, 'You can't buy grunge at the Gap.' I wondered if I'd be a poser if I paid over $575 for them.

PS They look 100 times better in person.

It takes about 1,800 gallons of water to grow enough cotton to make one pair of jeans.

Fall Basics

Total cost = just under $200
I'll always shop op shops. When I go I look for quality, all season fabrics - yes I wear cashmere in the summer.

A great time to hit them is the month before the season ends - everyone else is still in summer mode. We picked up these basics about two weeks ago all for just under $200 - not including dry cleaning. I still need to find a few dresses, some Katherine Hepburn trousers and a coat. He still needs to find a coat, boots, and some trousers.

There's a couple of cashmere sweaters, an Oscar de la Renta jacket, some snakeskin belts, a Burberry jacket, snake skin shoes, Ralph Lauren lizard ballet flats, a Burberry jacket, a couple silk scarves, a pashmina, some Pierre Cardin belts, a James Perse shirt, a couple Ralph Lauren tops and a Charles Jourdan bag.

Women are not in love with me but with the picture of me on the screen. I am merely the canvas upon which the women paint their dreams.

Best Tie Knot for Short Men

How to Tie a Four in Hand Knot

The Four in Hand knot is recommended for shorter men. It's a small knot with a distinctive, elongated asymmetric shape - which directs the eye vertically up the body - giving the impression of height. The Four in Hand was also a favourite of James Bond
