How To Wallpaper with Newspaper

Ace Hotel - Portland

The Ace has drawn attention to boring walls by using a material not usually associated with wall coverings - player piano music. The look is achieved by using common papers such as comics, sheet music, maps, blueprints, magazines cuttings, newspaper, paper doilies, or heavy foil. The more creative the better.

How to wallpaper with newspaper and other stuff.

Materials:
Glossy polymer medium sponge brushscissorsyour selection of papers, magazines or other ephemera(optional) glossy water based polyurethane (clear or tinted)paintbrush
The polyurethane can be omitted. However, it gives a protective glossy coating.

**If you do decide to use polyurethane make sure it's water based or it will smear and run the print and the picture from the other side will show through.

The polymer medium can be used as an under coat and as a final coat.

Super fast, super easy, super good. Just call them a breakfast energy square and there's no guilt involved. Here's the recipe:

What you need:
1 cup walnuts1/2 cup coarsely chopped almonds1.75 cups pitted dates1/2 cup raw cacaotwo pinches sea saltparchment paper food processormedium size bowlsmall rectangular glass container with cover (we used one of those glass airtight food storage containers )
What you do:
place walnuts in food processor and process till finely groundadd cacao and pinch of salt and blendadd dates one at a time to the running processor (through the top feeder tube) - the ingredients should look like cake crumbs yet they'll stick together when squeezed (if they don't, add more dates)add the mixture to a medium size bowl and fold in the almondstransfer to a parchment paper lined glass container press and mold the brownie mixture into the glass containersprinkle the other pinch of coarse sea salt on top place in f…
